ANOTHER March birthday

Today is a very important day. Today is my mommy's birthday (I know. Her family has lots of birthdays in March)! If she didn't have a birthday, she wouldn't be here with me helping me type a blog. And I would be very sad. Oh, and if you're wondering, Mommy is 4 years old.
It's not a big secret that my mommy is my favorite person. Dad's OK with that though. After a little while of being alone with him, I relax a little, but never completely until Mom's home.

What we do best: nap!

I made sure Mom didn't miss a minute of her birthday and woke her up early. Dad helped me pick out a card for her and I really wanted her to see it (or go on my walk...same thing). She had to run some errands and go to that work place, but I went in to my crate without complaining, just for her! Dad beat her home and they took me on another walk and then Dad took her to dinner. I wasn't invited. Phooey on that. But she gave me lots of cuddles and I gave her lots of puppy kisses, so I guess I forgive her.

Happy birthday, Mommy! I love you even though you make me wear stupid costumes sometimes and leave me alone when you go to work.

Bad News

Bad news friends. I was doing a great job of sticking to my resolve of giving up baths for Lent. Unfortunately, I have failed. It's all Mom's fault though. She made me. She also said she didn't think it counted since I'm supposed to give up something I LIKE. I told her that's dumb and she said to blame Grandma since Grandma never let Mom give up homework for Lent. I think I will take that up with Grandma.

Speaking of Grandma, yesterday was her birthday (my family has lots of March birthdays!).

I love my Grandma.

I think part of the reason I had to get a bath was Dad's fault. He mowed the lawn and then I went outside to play. Apparently fresh cut grass stains white paws. Who knew?

I think I'm just in the St. Patrick's Day spirit a few days late.

But the bath wasn't all bad. The lady said I was a sweet boy and very good. Mom doesn't believe her, but that's OK. Afterwards we went to my very favoritest place ever: the drive thru! I even charmed THAT lady into giving me a treat! Except Mom was a meanie and said I already had 2 while we checked out at PetSmart and wouldn't let me have the third. Boo!

Luckily, she still gave it to me when she left for that work place.

Spring and Work

Today was a great day! Mommy and I went on a super long walk. I liked sniffing all the blooming trees. I like to think they look so pretty because of all my expert watering ;)

Daddy had to go to the people V-E-T today because his ear was feeling funny. I hope the people V-E-T isn't like the puppy dog V-E-T and do unmentionable things to his hind half. Actually, I hope they did. Serves the people right messing with me like that! Anyway, turns out he has an ear infection, so Mom and I picked up his medicine and took it to him at work.

Here's me helping Dad do his work. He has a very important job. He has to sit at a desk for a thousand hundred hours before he's allowed to come home.

What cha got, Dad? Anything for me?

The best part about visiting Dad at work is the ladies that love on me. I played shy the very first time I visited, but I let them get some good pets in today. I even schmoozed one into giving me a treat, but she said I could only have half of it because I was too curvy. Except she didn't say "curvy." Whatever lady. I'm just big boned!

Afterward, Mom and I came home and I helped her with projects until she had to leave for her work place. Boo on work, Mommy!

St. Patrick's Day

Today is another one of those weird human holidays. Today is St. Patrick's Day. Apparently St. Patrick is a short man from Ireland who ran around giving gold to people and making them drink green beer. Or something. I don't understand so many of these human holidays.

Mom says she finds this holiday funny since the Irish haven't always been treated very nice in the United States. But everyone forgets all that and pretends to be Irish so they can party. Whatever. I'm not even allowed to drink, so this holiday is very dumb to me. I'd rather celebrate Thanksgiving again.

P.S. Today is also important because the Kentucky kitty Cats are playing in a basketball tournament. The fans are mixing their green and blue...except I can't really tell because I'm color blind! Ha! They're calling today St. Catrick's Day...I could support that as long as there's a St. Dogrick's Day soon!

Oh my, friends! Deepest apologies for being gone so long. Mom had to give a presentation tonight in her class and has hogged the computer. Since she's my main typist, that's a problem.

Luckily, there hasn't been too much going on with me. Sleeping. Eating. Belly rubs. Walks. Repeat.

Yesterday was an important day. Yesterday was my Grandpaw's birthday! He's about seventy-teen million years old. I'm starting to warm up to Grandpaw. I used to not like him at all since I didn't like human boys, but I'm warming up to him. He's figured out I don't like to be petted the same way as his kitty cats, so we have a mutual respect relationship now.

This is me helping Grandpaw grill. I'm a wonderful help in the kitchen, even if the kitchen is outside!

Happy (day late) birthday, Grandpaw!
