Rehearsal

This has been a really great weekend. Mom and Dad took me on a special trip! We went to the PARK! Mom said it even has an area just for puppy dogs to run around and play, but we didn't get to go there this time. Dad was in a wedding (not quite sure what that is, but I hear there's food, so I'm in!) and they decided to practice at the park. Since I'm (usually) a well-behaved puppy dog, they decided to bring me!

This is what I did most of the time they were practicing. Just watching. There was so much to see. The park had a lake (*shudder*) which meant there were lots of ducks and geese making commotion. I liked watching them. There were a few other puppy dogs, but they were too far away to play with. There were also lots of kids. I was OK watching them, but didn't really like when they tried to pet me.

This was my view from where Mom sat with me. You can't see the dogs, birds, and kids, but they were there!

This is everyone practicing. My daddy's the one in the gray striped shirt. I asked if I could be the ring-dog, but Mom said the wedding was big enough without me.

I'm so cute!

This was the best part of the rehearsal--dinner! The guy at the grill is the groom (again, not sure what that is) and he even gave me a hot dog...on purpose! Dad said it was OK. I also got a few bites of chicken that got dropped on the ground, but Mom stopped me before I could eat the whole thing.

I really like rehearsal dinners. I hope I get to go to another one soon!

The V-E-T

Mommy took me to the V-E-T yesterday. Normally I don't mind too much since we just go to pick up my medicine. I minded today though. Mommy took me to get shot!!! TWICE!!! The doctor was nice enough, but before he shot me, he touched me all over and stuck me and took away some of my blood :( As if that wasn't bad enough, then he stuck a big stick thing up...um...well, let's just say in a place sticks don't belong. The worst part was Mommy just let him. He and Mom chatted about Auburn and next thing I know, I'd been shot. Mom said the first time was so I didn't get rabies. Then I got shot again so I don't get other sickies. BTW, Mom hates that I'm tell everyone I got shot. She says that I got my shots. Can anyone explain the difference?

Then the mean doctor left and I thought I was in the clear. But then he came back and I got nervous. All he came to say was that all of the "test results" were negative. I thought that sounded bad, but Mom seemed happy, so I guess it's ok...maybe tests are like golf and the low score wins! I got a pretty new tag for my collar and I even got my license renewed. Mom still wouldn't let me drive home though :( The only thing that made the day better was that Mommy and That Daddy-Guy were home for a long time, so I got lots of belly rubs and snuggles for being a good boy.

Road Trip!

Mom and I had the greatest adventure this weekend! We took a road trip, just us. No That Daddy-Guy or anything! I loved getting all my mommy's attention
We went to see my other grandparents in Tennessee. They live with 3 kitty cats. They weren't very playful, but we played lots of "Stare." I also made them share their food, but Mommy made me stop and then I threw it all up anyway.
I wasn't too happy with Mom on Saturday, though. She left me all alone. She said she had to go do some stuff further south and that I could stay and play with my grandparents and the kitty cats. If I'm not allowed to eat their food, that's not much fun! Mom left me anyway :(
I had a pretty fun time with my grandparents. Grandma was excited I let her pet me. Grandpa took me on a couple of walks and I peed on everything (even surprised him with a couple of #2s). I wish Mom had been home with me, but all in all, I had a good time. Then Mom came home and I snuggled her lots.
We had a fun trip, but I kinda missed That Daddy-Guy (sh! Don't tell him that). Mom said that was the last bit of traveling for a while.

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day!!!!!

My mommy and me in the yard :)

I was catching up on my blog reading and saw my buddy, Oz, had this poem. I thought it was appropriate for today.
You feed me when I'm hungry,
You keep water in my dish,
You let me sleep on anything,
Or in any place I wish.

You sometimes let me lick your hands
or even lick your face,
Despite the fact I've licked myself
In every private place.

You taught me how to come when called
You taught me how to sit,
You always let me go outside
So I can take a s***.

You'll always have my loyalty
up to the bitter end,
'cause after all, it's plain to see . . .
You are a dog's best friend.
--Author Unknown

My favorite part is about licking. I like Mommy's face ALL THE TIME!
We spent the weekend with That Daddy Guy's mom and dad. They fed me lots and lots of pretzels. Then, we went to Mawmaw's house and everyone there fed me pieces of chicken and a little bit of mashed potatoes (they were plain, so no garlic worries). Mommy says we're going to have to walk seventy thousand-leventy miles for me to work all of that off. I looked at her and said, "These paws were made for walkin'!"

Storms

Hi friends!
Hope everyone is staying dry. Mommy reads on her book-face thing that some people are having really high temperatures and droughts. That's hard to believe because all it's done here is rain, rain, rain. And then rain a little more. Then the sun will come out, but it's only teasing because then the rain comes back. The weather people said it's the wettest April ever.
Not only it is raining, but it's storming. I normally don't do much for thunderstorms, just nap under the table or bed. But all these storms are taking their toll on this puppy dog. Mom and that Daddy-guy even let me up on the couch because I was worried and hopped up on my own and hid in the blanket. Then I snuggled and gave them my best "sad face" and it worked!

This is what our forecast is. The severe weather is really not good. That's when I get really scared. Mom just hopes I'm not alone when it's like that.
However, I hope everyone will keep our friends in Tennessee and Alabama in your thoughts and prayers. Tennessee got it bad last night and Alabama is bad today. Everywhere is flooding and that's like one giant, dirty bath. I don't like clean baths so dirty ones are even worse!

On finding God

He is, after all, a backwards doG :)
I went to church yesterday. I've been a couple of times before, once for the Blessing of the Pets (yay!) and once to help Mom and Dad do something with flowers at Christmas. There's a polished concrete floor that is so tricky! It looks just like WATER!! AHHHHHHH!!!! I hate water! I wouldn't walk on it for anything until Mom and Dad showed me it wasn't really water.
I went to church again yesterday to help Mom build this labyrinth thingy.

This is the entrance

(see the floor on the other side? WATERY!!)

Mom says people with use this labyrinth to help them pray on Good Friday. I don't know about all that, but the concrete floor wasn't as scary this time AND I got to go through a drive-thru, so I think it was a Good Tuesday. Maybe Good Friday is when Mom stays home ALL DAY and plays with me! Paws crossed!
BTW, I never did see God at church, but I did see some really nice trees to say hi to, so it's kind of the same thing.

I'm a Good Boy

I almost went adventuring today! Mommy and Dad had the TV Show man come fix the TV shows (every channel was black and had no sound. That's boring). Since he had to do some stuff to my yard, they unlocked the gates.
Well, today was stormy and very windy. When Mommy got home from work, she let me out to go potty like normal. She came inside to do some stuff in the kitchen and realized she had lost sight of me. She came out just to check since she's a worry-wort like that. She says it's because she's afraid the rabbit that sometimes visits our yard will be around and I'll find it and try to play with it. Silly Mommy. Why would I hurt the Easter Bunny that brings me presents?
Anyway, when she came outside, she called me and came moseying over. That's when she realized the gate was WIDE OPEN! OhNoes! She is very thankful that I know my boundaries and that I come when called (unless there's a good smell or I know she doesn't have a treat). I told her I could never leave her. She needs me to protect her from that Daddy-Guy.

P.S. Here's me checking out some stuff my parents have been doing to my yard. It's alright, guess. I don't really get why they want to sit in those chairs. I prefer the sunbeams on the grass.
