Gotcha Day!

Hi Friends!

Wednesday was the very most specialist of days. It was my Gotcha Day. Mom knew it was coming up because of the World Cup that's been on TV and makes my dad get really loud. It's a long story, but my people met their neighbors because of our fence and them watching the games.

Anyway, it was a great day! I got a long walk that evening, a special diner, and even more special dessert!

I was so excited for my special somethings, even if waiting drove me a little crazy.

My special dinner: Tots and steak!

Yum yum yum!

Wait...

Free!

Dessert. My dad picked it out all by himself!

Yum again!

Mom also took video, but she hasn't put it on her computer yet.

I'm so glad my people came to find me. I had a foster mom and she was nice, but nothing beats a Fur-ever home. My home before Foster Mom wasn't so nice and it took me a while to come around to my dad, but I like him a lot now. Except when he gets too close to my mommy or when he tries to move my Gotcha Day treat.  So friends, if you want eternal love that only a puppy dog can give, remember to adopt, not shop.

Because you could give another wonderful puppy dog the best life ever!

Survived!

Hi friends!

I hope everyone survived the worst, most horriblest day of the year. The humans call it "4th of July" or "Independence Day." I'm pretty sure that's just code for "be mean to all puppy dogs in your neighborhood." Luckily, my people put my Thundershirt on me and my shaking and pacing stopped. I  couldn't completely relax, but I was much happier. *Disclaimer: I have not been compensated in any way for my endorsement of Thundershirt. I just like it!*

I'm nervous, but not shaky.

Watchful, but almost sort-of relaxed

The weather was also pretty much perfect, so we spent a lot of time outside.

Mom and got to enjoy the patio until the neighbor kids started playing with poppers. I didn't like those.

Enjoying the 5th of July

Are you eating, Mom?

Hey, here comes Dad!

In other news, my Gotcha Day is coming up soon! I've overheard rumblings of "steak dinner" and "special treat from the Barkery." Paws crossed for both!!!!

Holidays are hard! Luckily I have Dad feet to nap on.

Lakes and Grandma's House

Hi friends!

I had the BEST weekend EVER! On Friday, my mommy took me to Ms. Lisa's play place for day care. Something about IKEA and Containers and hot puppy dogs so I had to go there. I had lots of fun though. I came home with muddy legs, so I had to get a leg bath. I didn't like that, but I didn't shake the whole time. Mom counts that as a win.

On Saturday, we laid around the house for a while and then we went to Grandma's house! It's my favorite place. The Thing came too, unfortunately. But we actually almost had fun and I didn't have to growl at him. He's almost learning his place in the pack. He's a little dense though.

Waiting on Grandpa to come back with dinner

Really, the best day was Sunday. We went to the drive-thru! It's my favorite place. Then, we went to a lake for morning walk. The humans ate breakfast and then we walked the trail around. It was long and a little hot, but The Thing and I loved it! We actually almost ran The Thing's batteries out.

This way, The Thing

Mom quacked at them. She's so embarrassing

Ducky family!

After walks we came back to Grandma's and waited until time to go to Great-Grandma's! That's my favorite place.  Everyone ate lunch and I begged a lot and was rewarded with mashed potatoes. We watched some soccer and came home. I can't ask for any more from a weekend.

The Thing and I aren't dumb...well, I'm not. The Thing just followed my lead. We know the best begging spot is between grandmas!

Mashed potatoes for my trouble

Sunday was Father's Day, so I decided to let my dad love on me.

I almost fell asleep watching soccer.

Monday night, we watched the USA play Ghana in soccer. It's not like the other football my people watch where Mom AND Dad yell at the TV. Only Dad gets loud. And he got loud a few times, so I had to check on him. Then, I noticed he had french fries, so I decided I needed some.

Are those french fries I see?

Hey Dad, do you need help cheering? Or perhaps eating?

By the way, the USA won their soccer football game! Yay!

That's why it was the best weekend ever!

Moving

Hi friends,

Well, it looks like I'm not going to be a cousin-brother-uncle after all. Apparently mama and daddy robin decided to move closer to family because Mama's no longer on her nest and we haven't seen her in over a week. Funny thing is they seem to have forgotten an egg. There were three...now there's one and Mom never saw baby birds. And none of the eggs are on the ground either.

Kitty Sitting

Oh no pals!

I have forgotten to tell you about all of my best weekends ever in May! *gentle dog kisses on the nose* That makes up for it right? *Big sad puppy eyes here* OK good!  This has been a great month! I got to go visit Grandma and GreatGrandma. They fed me lots, of course. And I got to baby-sit some cats. Grandma's neighborhood has lots of feral cats running around which means lots of kittens. When an almost momma cat comes around, Grandma gets it and finds homes for the kittens (when they're ready, of course) and then she calls the free spay and neuter place to try to slow the problem. Until the kittens go home though, they need me to watch them!

Last weekend though was definitely the best weekend ever! It was a long weekend, which means the people got an extra day at home instead of going to the work place!  On Saturday, we went to Bark in the Park. This is when my local minor-league baseball team lets us puppy dogs enjoy baseball! We went last year, but there was another promotion happening, so the crowd was big and we didn't have as much fun. This year, us dogs were the main attraction and we had a blast!  One of mom's students even sang the national anthem. We happened upon them before they sang and she was so excited to meet me. I found a fry on the ground, so I wasn't as interested in her.

The team has their own puppy delivery dog, Jake the Diamond Dog. He was a very good boy and didn't pee or get distracted once while giving umpires baseballs and water. Mom says that's why I can't be a diamond dog.

Mom's student is in there somewhere. They're still working on getting situated

Now they're ready!

What's down here?

Otherwise we laid around and napped all weekend and took really long W-A-L-Ks and I loved that.

I also discovered I'm going to be a...cousin? Brother? Uncle? A momma birdie has moved in by our house and she's going to have birdie puppies! There are three eggs in her nest. Mom is very quiet and careful when she goes to toss my bags in the trash so she doesn't scare the momma. Momma Bird has finally gotten used to my mommy, so she doesn't fly away easily. I'm excited to take care of them!

Coffee, Grandmas, and BARKBOX

Hi pals!

So my amazingly awesome weekend. It started on Friday when no one's alarms woke us up. That's when I knew that day was going to be special. Once finally did wake up, we had family snuggle time in the big bed. I love the big bed so much. Why I'm not allowed up every night I'll never know.

After snuggles, we were off adventuring! There is a coffee shop near Dad's work place that lets puppy dogs come in! They even keep treats behind the counter for us. Another puppy dog was already there when I came in and she (he? I didn't get a good look) REALLY wanted to meet me and I like to play hard to get, so his (her?) person had to take her (him?) outside. We both still got treats though. My people had stopped at the drive-thru on the way since this place doesn't really have anything for breakfast. The weather was nice enough for them to enjoy food and coffee outside. I even got a few pieces...of course. Unfortunately Mom forgot her phone in Dad's car, so no pictures of that part.

After breakfast, we went for a walk downtown. All of the smells were so smellful! I had to sniff every single one. And then pee on them. I was kinda tired by the time we made it all the way back to the car!

Courthouse smells are the best!

And no one could make me not add my own smells!

When we finally got home, Mom gave me the best news ever: Grandma and Grandpaw were coming to visit! Hooray! They brought that Emma thing with them. But I played nice with her and Grandma brought me treats.

Grandpaw and Dad and Mom worked on some projects outside and while they were working, I got a package! My BarkBox arrived! My Twitter pals have been raving about them, so I finally convinced Mom to get me one. It is AMAZING!!!!!! I'm now trying to talk Mom into a full subscription, but so far she's being cheap. I'll do another post on all the awesome things inside.

BARKBOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Saturday, Dad made everyone pancakes, so of course he made me and Emma extras. He wouldn't do my usual plate since he wasn't sure if Emma was allowed or not. I made the sacrifice though. Pretty sure that bought me extras later!

Me and Emma. No we're not actually related even though she looks (and acts) like my little sister.

After breakfast, I got another great surprise! My other grandma and grandpaw were coming! And they were bringing Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpaw! And no other puppy dogs! They meant to come in to celebrate Mom's and Uncle R's birthdays, but no one had free weekends. Everyone went out to lunch and left me and Emma all alone. I didn't like that. But Grandmas gave me treats, so it's OK.

Then Sunday was Easter and you've already read about what I got to do!

And that's why this was the most amazingly epically awesome weekend ever!

P.S. Keep up the prayers for Ms. Sandi. She finished her first week of chemo and it was hard on everyone, especially her. But her counts are good. I don't know what that means, but Mom says it's good!

Easter

Hi friends!

OMD! This has been the most amazingly, epically, awesomest week ever! I will fill you in on everything this week, but for now enjoy this video since today is Easter.

Easter is a human holiday that celebrates the day baby Jesus brought chicken eggs to a bunny and the bunny hid them so we eat ham. Or something like that.  Anyway, humans like to hide eggs and make their kids find them...seems like they could save a lot of time and just not do that. Mom decided I needed to have an Easter egg hunt, but didn't want to use eggs. So she made a trail with treats (which you can't see in the video since they blend in with the carpet) that led to a big treat from the Easter bunny. I watched that guy all morning and he never left me a big blue treats. Only little brown ones.
