Grandpaw-rents!

This was the best weekend ever! This weekend, my grandpaw-rents came to visit me! Yup. They had no agenda except to love on me! They did take my people out to dinner and I didn't really like that, but I got lots of pets when they came home.

I even gave my grandpaw-rents a present. I let them pet me! That was a very big deal to them. I even gave my grandma kisses after breakfast.

Whew! All of that attention getting can wear a puppy dog out!

I also had an adventure on Thursday. Mommy had to go away to that work place for a very long time Thursday morning, so she took me to Ms. Lisa's play place so I wouldn't bark for 6 straight hours. Mom was a little nervous since she's never left me like that before. It was a long day, but I got a good report. I wasn't too excited about the puppy dogs playing outside, so I got to hang out in the office, which only had 2 other puppy dogs. Great big ones, but they were nice and Ms. Lisa was impressed I didn't mind them. Maybe next time I'll want to play...or maybe I'll just want my mommy to come get me! Rumor has it I have a sleep over party there next weekend...I'm not too sure how I'll feel about that.

Mister Gets Shot

I was so excited this morning, when shortly after Mom and I came home from my walk, Mom got my leash again! Oh boy! Another walk? Possibly a car ride? Either way yay! We did in fact go on a car ride, but I didn't like where we went. The V-E-T's office. And this time, we weren't there for my medicine refill.

I knew things were bad when Mom made me get on that giant step with the numbers. Then the lady opened the door for us to go to those back rooms. Friends, no good EVER happens in those back rooms. I tried to get away, but the floor was slick, so Mom could just drag me.

I did wait nicely though.

Mom let me sit in her lap and I tried to put on my brave face.

Friends, I won't even speak of the horrors that happened to me. I was stuck FOUR times--once to take out all my blood, and three times for shots. I also got that stupid wand thingy shoved up my...sit spot. I put up a good fight though. The V-E-T had a little trouble hearing my heart and lungs because of the whining pant I was doing. He ultimately decided I was healthy though.

He left to write a prescription for a new "not miss Mommy so much" medicine and I finally relaxed.

Since I didn't actually bite the V-E-T, Mommy took me to The Bluegrass Barkery for some treats.  They bake all of their own treats and are not only yummy, but healthy, too!  The nice man working gave me several samples in exchange for letting him pet me.

He also had a puppy dog working with him and I liked meeting her. I tried to show her I was the boss though and a rack of toys was all mine, but Mommy yelled, "NO Mister!" But she was too late :) Luckily, the man said it happens all the time and that even though he cleaned it up, someone else was going to claim it for themselves. Whatever, dude. That rack is MINE!

While we were waiting on my new prescription to be filled, we went to Starbucks and I got a puppy latte (whipped cream in a sample cup)! It's my favorite!

Even though I got shot today, I still got to spend time with my mommy and got lots of treats out of it. Mommy said next time maybe she'll remember to bring the treats TO the V-E-T's. Except I think the only thing that would help is if the V-E-T would stop sticking things up defenseless puppy dogs'...sit spots.

Easter

Hi everyone! Today is a very special day. Today is Easter! Easter is a holiday that celebrates the day God gave rabbits the ability to lay eggs. Wait...Mom says that's not right. It's the day we celebrate God's son, Jesus, being raised from the dead. Then why the heck do people hunt for eggs the Easter bunny brings them, MOM? I've seen the rabbit in our yard. He's only left us tiny chocolate eggs you call "poop."

Human holidays never cease to confuse me.

My people just went to church and are doing our usual Sunday thing. I like that. Especially since Mom isn't making me wear rabbit ears.

Basketball and Adventures

Yesterday was the greatest day ever! Yesterday, the Kentucky Wild(kitty)cats won their basketball game. Apparently this was a special game because they won trophy. In fact, it's their eighth trophy. I've never won a trophy. But if I ever did, I bet I'd win one for "Cutest Mister Ever" 'cause I am.

My dad was very happy and my mom was excited, too. I could tell they were happy and ran around and barked and would hop on the couch and hop off and run around and hop up and bark and hop of and...well, you get the idea. Mom and Dad debated going downtown, but Dad had to get up for work today, so they just watched the recap on TV and watched everyone's tweets and BookFace thingy.

Today was pretty great, too. Mom and I went adventuring.

I wore my UK bandana while adventuring! First, Dad wanted a paper to remember the game, so Mom and I went to get one. Then, Mom had to go to work...That wasn't part of the adventure. But she did get to leave early, so that's when we did adventures. We went to the V-E-T's office to get my medicine. The nice lady at the counter said hi to me and told me not to worry because I wasn't getting poked today. Good!

Anyway, after V-E-T, we went to one of my favorite places-the bank! The lady there just loved my bandana and gave me a treat. That's why I love the bank. Finally, Mom was very hungry, so we went to my very favorite place-the drive-thru! I didn't get a treat there, but Mom said that was probably good since I didn't need another one. What do you know, Mom? Then we came home and held paws and snuggled until Dad got home.

Wow! I had a busy day!

ANOTHER March birthday

Today is a very important day. Today is my mommy's birthday (I know. Her family has lots of birthdays in March)! If she didn't have a birthday, she wouldn't be here with me helping me type a blog. And I would be very sad. Oh, and if you're wondering, Mommy is 4 years old.
It's not a big secret that my mommy is my favorite person. Dad's OK with that though. After a little while of being alone with him, I relax a little, but never completely until Mom's home.

What we do best: nap!

I made sure Mom didn't miss a minute of her birthday and woke her up early. Dad helped me pick out a card for her and I really wanted her to see it (or go on my walk...same thing). She had to run some errands and go to that work place, but I went in to my crate without complaining, just for her! Dad beat her home and they took me on another walk and then Dad took her to dinner. I wasn't invited. Phooey on that. But she gave me lots of cuddles and I gave her lots of puppy kisses, so I guess I forgive her.

Happy birthday, Mommy! I love you even though you make me wear stupid costumes sometimes and leave me alone when you go to work.

Bad News

Bad news friends. I was doing a great job of sticking to my resolve of giving up baths for Lent. Unfortunately, I have failed. It's all Mom's fault though. She made me. She also said she didn't think it counted since I'm supposed to give up something I LIKE. I told her that's dumb and she said to blame Grandma since Grandma never let Mom give up homework for Lent. I think I will take that up with Grandma.

Speaking of Grandma, yesterday was her birthday (my family has lots of March birthdays!).

I love my Grandma.

I think part of the reason I had to get a bath was Dad's fault. He mowed the lawn and then I went outside to play. Apparently fresh cut grass stains white paws. Who knew?

I think I'm just in the St. Patrick's Day spirit a few days late.

But the bath wasn't all bad. The lady said I was a sweet boy and very good. Mom doesn't believe her, but that's OK. Afterwards we went to my very favoritest place ever: the drive thru! I even charmed THAT lady into giving me a treat! Except Mom was a meanie and said I already had 2 while we checked out at PetSmart and wouldn't let me have the third. Boo!

Luckily, she still gave it to me when she left for that work place.

Spring and Work

Today was a great day! Mommy and I went on a super long walk. I liked sniffing all the blooming trees. I like to think they look so pretty because of all my expert watering ;)

Daddy had to go to the people V-E-T today because his ear was feeling funny. I hope the people V-E-T isn't like the puppy dog V-E-T and do unmentionable things to his hind half. Actually, I hope they did. Serves the people right messing with me like that! Anyway, turns out he has an ear infection, so Mom and I picked up his medicine and took it to him at work.

Here's me helping Dad do his work. He has a very important job. He has to sit at a desk for a thousand hundred hours before he's allowed to come home.

What cha got, Dad? Anything for me?

The best part about visiting Dad at work is the ladies that love on me. I played shy the very first time I visited, but I let them get some good pets in today. I even schmoozed one into giving me a treat, but she said I could only have half of it because I was too curvy. Except she didn't say "curvy." Whatever lady. I'm just big boned!

Afterward, Mom and I came home and I helped her with projects until she had to leave for her work place. Boo on work, Mommy!
