New Favorite Treat

My people gave me a very special treat last night. One of their favorite dessert places, Fro-Jo's (Facebook and Twitter) was having their weekly "Wacky Wednesday." Every Wednesday, they announce something, sometimes people have to answer a trivia question, sometimes they have to wear something, and you get a discount on their frozen yogurt. Well, yesterday was Pet Day! All my people had to do was bring me or my picture and they got a discount on their yogurt. The best part? Pets got their servings for FREE!

Lots of other doggies were there too, so I wanted to say hi first.

"Hmm...this is cold...but yummy!"

"I think I like it."

"Scratch that. I LOVE it!"

Several times, I actually picked up the whole cup by the frozen yogurt with my teeths. After I finished mine, I asked my dad for some, but his had chocolate on it. I tried to lick Mom's cup, but she said no, too. Then I worked my wiles on some people inside. They thought I was cute, but not cute enough to mooch from. Boo! I'm now addicted. Maybe we can go again tonight!

*Disclaimer* I received free frozen yogurt and my parents received a discount. However, we were not asked to write a review, nor were we compensated in any other way. All opinions are mine and can be proven :)

Ahoy Mateys!

Shiver me timbers, today is an important day!
Dog Pirate Costume

(this isn't me, but I got the picture from here)

For the humans, today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Some of my kitty friends are calling it Meow Like a Pirate Day, so I'm calling it Bark Like a Pirate Day. If you have that Facebook thing my mommy is always playing on, you can even change the language settings to Pirate. Yo ho ho!

All By Myself

This has been the WORST weekend ever...well, that's not entirely true. Yesterday morning, I let That Daddy Guy pick me up when he let me out of night jail and he put me in the big bed! I got to snuggle with my mommy and get petted by my daddy. That was pretty great.
But the rest of the weekend was terrible!
Mom and Dad had a "date night" Friday. I don't know what that it, but it's apparently not for puppy dogs :( So I got left home all by myself.
Then on Saturday, my friend Chloe's mom got married to Chloe's dad. Mom and Dad were invited, but I wasn't allowed to that either. Mom said not even Chloe was coming, but that didn't make me feel any better. We did get to watch some football, but both Mom and Dad's teams lost, so that made them sad.
THEN today, Mom left me TWICE with That Daddy Guy. Something about school and projects and blah blah blah. She promised that she'd done leaving me. She better be telling the truth. Otherwise I'll never forgive her. Until she gets home. Then I'll jump on her and give her lots and lots of kisses.

Dog Doogity

I would expect any readers of this blog to know, but just in case, a reminder: Humans are supposed to pick up any poops we dogs leave on a walk. It's payback for dressing us up at Halloween.
Anyway, my buddy Bandit shared this video on his blog and wanted to pass it on:

More Football

Today has been a great day. Except for when my mommy had to leave me all alone with That Daddy Guy. I didn't really like that. But I'm doing better at being left with him and actually laid on the couch a couple of times in between my door vigil for Mommy.

Anyway, when Mommy was actually here, we all did what we do best on Saturdays in September: watch football. I've got a few followers on Twitter from the United Kingdom, so I should mention we watch American football, although Dad likes that soccer game you play. Also, no offense, but when I mention "UK" I mean the University of Kentucky.

Speaking of UK

I wore my bandana on both of my walks today! And both of my parents' cat teams won!

All that cheering wore me out, so I snuggled up on my mommy's leg (I really missed her when she was gone). She also wanted me to say that the color is weird in the picture. She really is wearing a shirt. I don't know why that's important because I'm nekkid all the time except for my fur coat! Moms are silly.

Labor Day

This has been the greatest weekend ever!
It all started on Friday when Mommy came home from that work place early. Her student was out of school, so he came for tutoring early. At first though I didn't think that was great because Mommy got the carpet monster out. But then she told me a secret: Grandma and Grand"paw" were coming to visit! They live thirty-leven miles away, so we don't see them very often. They would be here after one more night sleep.

After the night sleep, I had lots of day sleeps while my people watched football. Mom says we're a "house divided" because she's an Auburn fan and That Daddy Guy cheers for UK.

I like both teams because both of the mascots are of the feline variety. I love kitty cats!

While we were watching football, I snuggled with my dad. Both cat teams won, but neither of my people were very happy with the way the teams played.

Grandma and Grand-paw finally got here and I was very happy! I even came to Grandma to be petted. This is a pretty new development and my people are very proud of me. When I first came home with my people, I only wanted Mom and would run from anyone else. I'm learning that people are nice.

The next day, everyone had a special surprise: we were going on a trip! Not nearly as long as the one we went on earlier in the summer, where we stayed at a hotel, but it was still a lot of riding. I didn't mind since Grandma petted me the whole way.

We went to Mom's aunt's house in Ohio. Every year they have a party for Labor Day (I'm not sure what "labor" is. Mom says it means work. Again, not sure what that is). We missed last year because Grandma was sick and Mom wanted to take care of her instead, so this was my first trip!

"Hey Aunt Peggy, can I have some?"

It started to rain , but that didn't stop our fearless cooks!

"Hey Denny, I'm allowed to have some."

"See? I'm sitting!"

We had a lot of fun. The people weren't sure who would be there. Sometimes there's other puppy dogs, sometimes there's lots of kids. I was the only puppy dog, so I had sole responsibility of begging. It's a job I take seriously and I'm very good at. There were a few kids there, but not a lot. I don't really care for kids when they try to pet me, but I loved these when they'd drop crackers for me (Mom thinks they did it a little on purpose. I'm not complaining). Sometimes they did things I didn't like, but Mom was very proud that I didn't do anything mean back to them.

Either way, I got good puppy dog points and everyone loved me (except one person, but she doesn't like any dog, so I didn't take it personally).

We finally got home, Grandma and Grand-paw left for their house, and we all took naps. Being good and begging is hard work! But I took my rightful place at the top of the pillow mountain!

The best part of the weekend though was that both of my people were home today! It was rainy, so we don't get to do anything outside, but it's cooling down and we're all happy about that.

I hope everyone else's weekends were as special as mine!
