Thunder Boomies

Hi everyone!
Last night was scary. The people on the internets said my house was going to have a big thunderstorm and to STAY INSIDE. I really don't like the thunder boomies that come with those storms. I shake and shake. I feel much better when my mommy or That Daddy Guy holds me.

Since the storms were supposed to last for most of the night and since I was already shaky with some of the early boomies, my people made the best decision in the world. They let me sleep all night in the big bed with them! Aren't they the best?

Sometimes my people lift me into their bed in the morning on the weekends (the bed is way too tall for me to jump). Last week, That Daddy Guy went out of town and Mommy let me stay in bed to keep her company. All three of us had a pretty great night. My people slept through most of the storms and I pretty much stayed put.

Even though we didn't have to hide in the closet, some areas in Mom's home state were not as lucky. They are still rebuilding from major tornadoes from last year when other areas got hit with one last night. We don't think any friends were affected, but keep the Birmingham, AL area in your thoughts.

Golden Globes

Tonight is the Golden Globes award show. That's where the celebrity humans get all dressed up fancy (meaning without puppy dog fur) and everyone oohs and aahs and "she wore THAT?" over them. It's all very strange. However, the red carpet got one exceedingly handsome guy.

His name is Uggie (although he looks very similar to my favorite YouTube star, Jesse) and he was in the films The Artist and Water for Elephants. I haven't seen either yet, but I think this calls for a movie night! I wonder if he stopped to sniff and potty on his way down. I also wonder what after parties he'll attend.

Shh! Don't Tell Mom

I was catching up with my pal's blogs and Twitters and learned that today is National Dress Up Your Pet Day. Don't tell my mom, or my grandma for that matter. My kitty cousins and I have been subjected to enough humiliation.

Buzz's Guide to Adopting a Human

My Twitter pal, Buzz (@Buzz_Sprocker), posted a new blog today (here's a link) about adopting/training/raising a human. As any dog can attest, having a human is extremely hard work, but also filled with joy, like car rides and belly rubs.
If you have a moment, check it out and leave him some love!

Joke

I played a great joke on my mommy today. Lately she's been a sleepyhead and not being in a hurry to get out of bed anyway. Usually, once she is up, I start bouncing off the walls to go on a walk. Well, when she finally got up today, I didn't do that. She put her walking clothes on and I just trotted around. She wanted to do something on her computer real fast, and just laid down. She let me up on the couch and we just snuggled for a little bit. She thought I was sick! No, Mommy. Just playful ;)
Today's a rainy day, but I did finally decide to go walking and we took a shorter-than-normal one. I still loved it!
My challenge for everyone else today is to play a joke on your people. Just don't make it too good and land yourself at the V-E-T.

Doing Good

Hi friends!
I had a pretty relaxed weekend. We were all home for the first time in forever, so I did lots of this:

(That's my mommy's lap, in case you can't tell)

And this:

(chewing on my bone)

Mommy and I did have an adventure today.

Since Santa Paws brought me a new bed for Christmas, I decided to donate my old one to the puppy dogs at the Lexington Humane Society. I figured even though the bottom is a little worn, it's still a nice place to lay your head and those doggies might like that. I did get a little nervous when we first walked in though. I kind of forgot we weren't staying and thought my mommy was leaving me there! That'd be TERRIBLE! Luckily, she held on to the leash the whole time. Phew!

Lost Mommy and New Years

This is my first post of the new year! Nothing feels different for me though, so I have no idea what all of that means. Mom says sometimes people make resolutions for things they want to do for the new year. Hmm...I'm pretty awesome already. There's not much to change! So I guess I resolve to nap more and to be even more excited to go on walks. Those both sound do-able.

This year didn't start off so great though. I thought I lost my mommy! I looked and looked and looked for her all night Friday and couldn't find her anywhere! All I could find was That Daddy Guy. She wasn't even home that morning! Luckily, That Daddy Guy was here. I finally decided to stop looking for Mommy so much and laid down. Daddy was pretty proud of that. After 500 millionty-thousand years (which was Sunday), Mommy finally came home! Turns out she went to Grandma and Grandpa's (and without me! The nerve!) and they all went to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis. She said I wouldn't have liked it, but Memphis is famous for barbeque, so I think would have liked it just fine, thank you. Oh well. She's home now and my world is going back to normal, just how I like it!
