Terrible News

Hey friends. Bad news. My pee-mail box at my house is broken. Last night, right as my people were finishing up their dinner, the doorbell rings. I go into ferocious guard dog, especially since it couldn't have been a food delivery guy. They're my favorite visitors.

Anyway, it was actually a neighbor who said another neighbor ran over my pee-mail box (he called it a "tree," but he should know better. I've left messages on his box before. I guess they got lost). Oh no!

Sure enough, Dad went outside and saw this:

Now that my pee-mail box is out of commission, are there any suggestions for my neighborhood friends to leave me messages? I guess I could always just go by their boxes...

Fathers Day

Hi friends! This was the best weekend ever! Sunday was another one of those dumb human holidays called "Fathers Day." It's like Mothers Day, except instead of giving your mommy kisses and snuggles, you're suppost to let your dad do whatever he wants...or something. Really, it's no different from any other day.

This is the first time I met my dad. Of course, I knew he was my dad and sat in his lap. When I came home, I pretended I didn't like him. I kinda do now.

I like my daddy because he gives really good head scratches and belly rubs. He also gives me French Fries when he thinks Mommy's not looking. And lets me lick the knife after they make cinnamon rolls on the weekends.

We also take good naps together.

Since it was Fathers Day, Mom said she was giving Dad the afternoon off and took me to the park to go walking with my pal, Molly, and her mommy. Really, Mom just didn't want to do her homework. Dad stayed home and played boring video games. I definitely lucked out with the park idea! We had fun. I got Molly's mommy dirty and I smelled lots of smells and sent some pee-mails. But then it started to rain. Luckily, we were headed back to our cars anyway.

Mom wanted me to warn you that I might be a little quiet for the next couple of weeks. She has two classes right now and one of them is really hard with lots of writing, so she may not want to write for me, too. And apparently you need opposable thumbs to write. Do they sell those at PetSmart?

Reunion Season

Hi friends! This was the best weekend ever. On Sunday, my people and I went to my dad's hometown for a family reunion. I love reunions! They are always full of suckerspeople to beg from and feed me.  Mom said if I play my cards right, I could attend FOUR reunions this summer! That's one reunion for each paw. Wow! Mom said not to get too excited because one is in North Carolina. I don't know where that is, but it's a long drive and my people could only go for the weekend. I told her I didn't mind riding that far. Plus think of all the suckers family that would be there! She just said I was silly and I rolled over for her to give me a belly rub.

Anyway, Sunday was Dad's dad's side of the family. It was outside at a church's picnic shelter. The land the church is on was formerly owned by the family, so there were lots of family members that went to Rainbow Bridge in the church's cemetery.

I was ready to go early:

This is the cemetery. Mom, Dad, and I went walking after we were done eating. Mom said I was only allowed to potty on the trees, so I did.  Our walk kind of reminded me of my pal, Bandit's, walks. Except his cemetery is bigger.

Here is me patiently waiting for a sucker someone to give me food. A little boy kept dropping his ham, so I helped him clean up. Someone else gave me a bite of their carrot cake and then let me lick his plate! That guy was my favorite!

Hey Dad, you gonna eat all that?

Dad wouldn't give me any, so I stuck my tongue out at him.

After the reunion, we went to Mawmaw and Pawpaw's house to help them with their internets. I always love their house because it's chock full of food! They gave me a little more carrot cake and let me lick icing off their fingers. I also love their house because they have a huge yard. Part of it is a garden, so Mommy didn't let me potty there, but I ran and galloped and pranced all over. I told Mom she needed to get me a yard like this one. She agreed that I'd love it. Now we have to work selling the idea to Daddy.

Memorial Day

Whew! Today has been very busy my friends! This weekend is a holiday here in the United States. It's Memorial Day. Memorial Day is a time we remember the soliders who fought and died to protect us. It's also the start to summer vacations, so people like to grill and play at the pool. I don't understand those weirdos getting into water WILLINGLY!

Speaking of water, I helped Mom and Dad wash Dad's car today. Sometimes they aimed the hose over me and let the water rain down to help keep me cool because it was H-O-T hot!

This is me supervising in the yard.

Dad doing the hard stuff. Mom did a little, too.

Mom took great care to fill up a water bowl for me and even put a couple of ice cubes in it. I ended up dumping most of it with my leash! Excuse Mom's finger. She's fired as a photographer.

Finally I decided the coolest place away from the water was under Mom's car.

Since the doors were open, I thought we were going somewhere, so I hopped right in! I was so disappointed when all we did was go back inside.

One more note about Memorial Day: Not only do we remember those who died, but those who fought and were hurt, either physically of emotionally. Mom has a friend from home who was hit with an IED while in Afghanistan or Iraq (she can't quite remember), and is still suffering from PTSD. Also, a friend of a friend was hurt just last week by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan. 13 members of his group died and he has lots of broken bones. Be sure to check out The Wounded Warrior Project and see how you can help. We puppy dogs are often helpers for recovering soldiers!

I hope everyone has a good long weekend. I'll enjoy having my people home an extra day. I just hope we won't be a busy as we were today!

Lately

Hi friends!
Sorry I've been gone awhile. Mommy's class is all about research which means she needs the computer a lot...That's what she says anyway. She's really on Facebook when she should be researching. I should put her in time out!

Anyway, I've been playing a fun game with my people lately. It's called "Don't Go In the Crate" and it's very simple to play. Don't go in the crate! No matter what they put in it, I just sit and look at it. It started when I got a new medication, but Mom and Dad started giving me breakfast and dinner in the crate and made a few other changes and I went in fine. Now, I don't even go when it's bed time.  What do you think, friends? Any suggestions?

I had a fun adventure yesterday and didn't even have to leave my house! Well, the first part wasn't fun, where Mom and Dad left me all alone to eat. They know I love food and I still wasn't invited. Some friends were in town for the day, so Mom and Dad met them to show off Dad's office, ate, and came home. Mom had to go straight to work, but I only looked for her a little. I was much more interested in the visitors!  Dad was very proud I let them rub on me, even the boy! I even offered up my belly to rub and he knew exactly what to do. I should be a human trainer, except they're so easy to train!

I've also been helping my mommy out in the yard:

 And mommy did this:

 And I didn't chase this:

But only because I was in my crate when the Easter bunny popped by.

P.S. I've noticed I have some new followers! Welcome! I'm glad to meet you and hope to see you again.

Bored-ing

This was the WORST weekend ever (see Grandma? I do have those). This weekend, my people took me to Ms. Lisa's play place, except they didn't pick me up after work! I had to stay there ALL weekend. It was terrible! Only not really. I got to go outside and I sniffed other doggies, but I wasn't home on my couch like I belong.

Mom said they had to board me because they were going to Alabama for her high school reunion and I wouldn't have fun. I'm a ton of fun at reunions! See?
Me at Mom's family reunion

Mom can't find the good picture of Dad's family reunion I went to, but I had just as much fun!

Mom still doesn't believe I would have liked it though, since people brought their little human puppies that don't understand when I'm done being petted. That part was only like...a little while. I was boarded for way longer! Will someone come knock some sense into her? At least next time, they should spring for the luxury room with a TV and webcam. That will help me not be bored while I'm boarded...haha! Get it? Plus, Mom can check in on me and stop bugging the nice office people.

Grandpaw-rents!

This was the best weekend ever! This weekend, my grandpaw-rents came to visit me! Yup. They had no agenda except to love on me! They did take my people out to dinner and I didn't really like that, but I got lots of pets when they came home.

I even gave my grandpaw-rents a present. I let them pet me! That was a very big deal to them. I even gave my grandma kisses after breakfast.

Whew! All of that attention getting can wear a puppy dog out!

I also had an adventure on Thursday. Mommy had to go away to that work place for a very long time Thursday morning, so she took me to Ms. Lisa's play place so I wouldn't bark for 6 straight hours. Mom was a little nervous since she's never left me like that before. It was a long day, but I got a good report. I wasn't too excited about the puppy dogs playing outside, so I got to hang out in the office, which only had 2 other puppy dogs. Great big ones, but they were nice and Ms. Lisa was impressed I didn't mind them. Maybe next time I'll want to play...or maybe I'll just want my mommy to come get me! Rumor has it I have a sleep over party there next weekend...I'm not too sure how I'll feel about that.
