Greatest Adventure Ever

Hi friends!

I had the greatest adventure with my mommy today. She doesn't have to go that work place until later and she's actually caught up on her homework, so she said, "Mister, let's got adventuring today!" And I said, "Oh please, Mommy!"

Remember when my picture was on my pal Bunk's blog? Turns out I won second prize in his picture contest! I won a gift card to PetSmart. Since gift cards have taken over our house (according to Mommy. I haven't noticed a problem other than getting fed on time), she decided to use one up!

I hope I don't have to get a B-A-T-H!

Since it's been so cold lately, Mommy decided I needed a coat to wear and keep me warm. I made her stop at the booties. I am NOT stooping to that level.

Trying on a coat.

Smelling smells

I heard a funny sound when I first walked in and after we made a lap around the store, I went to investigate.  Mom said it was a birdie making that racket. I've chased seen birdies in our neighborhood, but not one that colorful. The people working at PetSmart thought I was pretty cute checking out the birdie, too.

Hi. I'm Mister, a puppy dog. What are you?

The adventure didn't end there though! Since it's so cold, Mommy decided she NEEDED a Starbucks to warm her up. She also had a gift card to there, too. I love Starbucks because I look so cute, the barista gives me a puppy latte (whipped cream in a sample cup). Mm mm!

Mommy got a little disappointed because we didn't get rid of ANY gift cards  on our trips! BOL! She printed a coupon before we left for $5 off $25 or more at PetSmart, so that plus the Pet Perks card plus the coat being on sale made our total less than the card, even though we got a coat AND treats! There's still money left, so we get to go back for more treats! There's apparently still money left on her Starbucks card, too, because they handed it back to her and never asked for more. (Note from Mister's Mommy: I KNOW I've spent more than the $15, but whatever!) So in short, we went out trying to get rid of stuff and came back with more! And I went to PetSmart and didn't have to get a bath. Today was a perfect day!

Basketball and Adventures

Yesterday was the greatest day ever! Yesterday, the Kentucky Wild(kitty)cats won their basketball game. Apparently this was a special game because they won trophy. In fact, it's their eighth trophy. I've never won a trophy. But if I ever did, I bet I'd win one for "Cutest Mister Ever" 'cause I am.

My dad was very happy and my mom was excited, too. I could tell they were happy and ran around and barked and would hop on the couch and hop off and run around and hop up and bark and hop of and...well, you get the idea. Mom and Dad debated going downtown, but Dad had to get up for work today, so they just watched the recap on TV and watched everyone's tweets and BookFace thingy.

Today was pretty great, too. Mom and I went adventuring.

I wore my UK bandana while adventuring! First, Dad wanted a paper to remember the game, so Mom and I went to get one. Then, Mom had to go to work...That wasn't part of the adventure. But she did get to leave early, so that's when we did adventures. We went to the V-E-T's office to get my medicine. The nice lady at the counter said hi to me and told me not to worry because I wasn't getting poked today. Good!

Anyway, after V-E-T, we went to one of my favorite places-the bank! The lady there just loved my bandana and gave me a treat. That's why I love the bank. Finally, Mom was very hungry, so we went to my very favorite place-the drive-thru! I didn't get a treat there, but Mom said that was probably good since I didn't need another one. What do you know, Mom? Then we came home and held paws and snuggled until Dad got home.

Wow! I had a busy day!

Spring and Work

Today was a great day! Mommy and I went on a super long walk. I liked sniffing all the blooming trees. I like to think they look so pretty because of all my expert watering ;)

Daddy had to go to the people V-E-T today because his ear was feeling funny. I hope the people V-E-T isn't like the puppy dog V-E-T and do unmentionable things to his hind half. Actually, I hope they did. Serves the people right messing with me like that! Anyway, turns out he has an ear infection, so Mom and I picked up his medicine and took it to him at work.

Here's me helping Dad do his work. He has a very important job. He has to sit at a desk for a thousand hundred hours before he's allowed to come home.

What cha got, Dad? Anything for me?

The best part about visiting Dad at work is the ladies that love on me. I played shy the very first time I visited, but I let them get some good pets in today. I even schmoozed one into giving me a treat, but she said I could only have half of it because I was too curvy. Except she didn't say "curvy." Whatever lady. I'm just big boned!

Afterward, Mom and I came home and I helped her with projects until she had to leave for her work place. Boo on work, Mommy!

Doing Good

Hi friends!
I had a pretty relaxed weekend. We were all home for the first time in forever, so I did lots of this:

(That's my mommy's lap, in case you can't tell)

And this:

(chewing on my bone)

Mommy and I did have an adventure today.

Since Santa Paws brought me a new bed for Christmas, I decided to donate my old one to the puppy dogs at the Lexington Humane Society. I figured even though the bottom is a little worn, it's still a nice place to lay your head and those doggies might like that. I did get a little nervous when we first walked in though. I kind of forgot we weren't staying and thought my mommy was leaving me there! That'd be TERRIBLE! Luckily, she held on to the leash the whole time. Phew!

Mister's Guide to Christmas (Part 1)

Hi everyone!
I had a big week with my mom. She turned in her last papers of the semester for school, so now she has lots of free time to rub my belly! Yay!

To celebrate, she took me with her on some errands. First stop was the Bluegrass Barkery, a local pet food store. I was low on my food and Mom also wanted to see what they had for Christmas presents.

We got my food and even a small bag of treats, to make sure I had enough until Christmas). Mom and the check-out guy were talking about new treat flavors they were coming out with and Mom said she wished they made people treats! If you're in town, you should check them out.

Next stop was the bank.

The bank is my second favorite place ever (next to the store, of course). I can always charm the people into giving me a treat. My tail wags reallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreally fast, too.

We also ran by the V-E-T to get more of my medicine. They even knew us by name. Mom said that wasn't necessarily a good thing. Moms are funny that way.

By the time we got home, the sky started dripping the white stuff.

I remember that from last year. It's called snow and it's cold, wet, and delicious. This snow didn't stay in the yard, but was still fun to watch.

My second favorite holiday is coming up soon and I have a few tips.
1) The humans get really busy this time of year, so make sure you hang out with them as much as possible. Jump and bark and do whatever to make sure they don't forget about you.
2) Some of your humans may be hosting parties (mine are this weekend). See my Thanksgiving tips for how to handle the people and the food.
3) No matter what, when the decorations come out, stay far, far away. I learned that the hard way.
